Volunteer Positions
Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the International Festival. Below are descriptions of the volunteer opportunities available at the Festival. In general, shifts are 3-4 hours long. Most shifts occur during the Festival. For more information call email us at internationalfoc@bellsouth.net.
Poster Distribution: Job responsibilities include: pick up posters and flyers at IF office, distribute throughout Triangle based on assigned area.
Event Information: Job responsibilities include: Staff booth at Triangle area events; talk about the International Festival; answer questions; give out flyers, volunteer information, coupons.
Online/Social Media: Job responsibilities include: Blog and post about the Festival throughout September and October 1, 2, 3 to raise awareness of the event.
Kids: Job responsibilities include: assist in Sophia’s Corner with crafts, bouncy castle, general supervision.
Ceremonies/Demonstrations: Job responsibilities include: assist Ceremonies/Demonstrations coordinator as needed; help keep areas clean.
Main Stage: Job responsibilities include: replenish drinking water for announcers; clean stage if needed; assist Main Stage coordinator and announcers as needed; assist dancers as needed.
Biergarten Stage: Job responsibilities include: greet performers; clean stage if needed; assist Stage coordinator and announcers as needed; assist performers as needed.
Tickets/Programs: Job responsibilities include: take tickets; pass out Festival programs, give directions; answer questions; greet visitors; stamp visitor's hands for re-entry.
Set Up/Break Down (Shifts are prior to and following the Festival): Job responsibilities include: assist with set up/break down tasks; paint; general labor.
Exit Poll: Job responsibilities include: hand out questionnaires; interview attendees; answer questions.
Souvenir Booth: Job responsibilities include: sell souvenirs & items for the Festival; answer questions; take lost & found.
Raffle Booth: Job responsibilities include: sell tickets to festival Raffle; answer questions.
Volunteer Coordination: Job responsibilities include: Assign volunteers to venues at the festival; coordinate shifts; keep track of community service paperwork; answer questions.
